Friday, September 7

Art + 10 Reception at Cafe 44 – Paintings and photography by the new Princeton artists’ group. Exhibit at the Leigh Avenue cafe will be on display until Oct. 1.

World Premiere of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at McCarter Theatre – The new play by Christopher Durang stars Sigourney Weaver and David Hyde Pierce. Berlind Theatre, Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m. Tickets $20 and up.  Order at mccarter.org.

Saturday, September 8

Sourlands Bike and Hike Spectacular – Choose from 3 road bike routes or take a guided hike through the Sourland Mountain Preserve. Organized by the Sourland Planning Council. Registration at  Sourland Mountain Preserve, East Mountain Road, Hillsborough, begins at 7 a.m. Registration fee of $35 includes lunch, which begins at 11:30 a.m. Event runs until 2 p.m.

West Winsdor and Montgomery Farmers’ Markets –  Montgomery Friends of Open Space Market at the Village Shopping Center, 1340 Route 206 South, and award-winning West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market at the Vaughn Drive Parking Lot at the Princeton Junction Train Station. Both 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Princeton Children’s Book Festival – More than 70 authors and illustrators gather to interact with children and their families and discuss their work at the annual event held at Hinds Plaza and the Princeton Public Library Community Room. Co-sponsored by the library, Terra Momo Restaurant Group, JaZams of Princeton and Princeton University. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., free.

Opening Reception for “Share What You Love” Art Exhibit – Art exhibit of works from artists who are members of the Arts Council of Princeton, 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the Arts Council, free.

Nassau Street Seafood and Produce Company 30th Birthday Party Bash – Party runs from noon-4, includes lobster and clam bake, and live music by Pi Fight.

ETS Classic Car Show – Classic vintage, exotic, and muscle cars on display along with live music, food, raffles, and prizes at the ETS Princeton Campus on 660 Rosedale Road, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.. Event raises money for the ETS Employees’ Community Action fund.

Theologian James Cone Visits Trinity Church – Cone, a well known theologian who teaches at Union Seminary in New York, discusses his most recent book, `The Cross and the Lynching Tree.’ Reception to follow. Lecture begins at 6 p.m. at Trinitiy Church,  33 Mercer Street in downtown Princeton, free.

Sunday, September 9

21st Annual Princeton JazzFeast – Open air jazz festival on the Palmer Square Green, noon – 6 p.m.. You can purchase food and beverages from favorite local restaurants. Jazz cds also for sale. The concert is free. Performances by the Princeton Jazz Quintet, Alan Dale and the New Legacy Jazz Band
, Claudio Roditi Septet
, Catherine Russell
 and the New Harmony Rhythm Kings.

Open House at the Arts Council of Princeton – Tour the arts center, visit art workshops and demonstrations, watch live performances. Information about upcoming programs, events, membership, and volunteer opportunities. Refreshments provided. Noon-4 p.m., free.
