Princeton Borough Police Blotter: Attempted Burglary, Aggravated Assault

A burglar attempted to break into a home on the 200 block of Prospect Street last night just after 8 p.m., police said. Patrols responded to a report of a burglar alarm going off, and when they checked the outside of the home they found that an exterior window had been broken and a door was damaged in an attempt to pry it open.  The inside of the house was checked, but it did not appear that the burglar(s) were successful in getting inside, police said. A Princeton Borough resident wielded a knife in a domestic dispute at his residence on Witherspoon Street just after 8 p.m. last night, police said. When police arrived at the scene their investigation showed that Alvaro Monzon, 32, allegedly grabbed the female victim, who lives with him, and held a knife against her chest while grabbing her by the shirt. Monzon was charged with  aggravated assault and weapons possession. His bail was set at $15,000. His court date is Nov. 26.
