Logo for Consolidated Princeton Chosen

The Arts Council of Princeton announced the winner of the logo design competition for the consolidated Princeton in a press release last night. The award-winning design was submitted by Jeff Leonard, an industrial designer and a resident of Princeton for more than 16 years.

“My inspiration was to take the traditional logo and bring it forward to today’s Princeton,” Leonard said.

The competition was created to involve the community in creating a simple graphic solution representing the consolidated Princeton. Local artists and designers were given the opportunity to showcase their creativity by designing a logo that was “symbolic in its representation of the new municipality.” Seventy-five designs were submitted. The names of the designers were kept anonymous so the judges would not know who they were. The final design was chosen by a jury of five which included Borough Mayor Yina Moore, Township Mayor Chad Goerner and marketing professional Crystal McKenzie. The three finalists, including the winner, will be displayed in the municipal building at 400 Witherspoon Street through the reorganization ceremony on January 1.

“We would like to thank everyone who participated in this competition, and, we enjoyed seeing everyone’s interpretations for the new town of Princeton,” said Arts Council of Princeton Executive Director, Jeff Nathanson.

    1. Such a shame that so many nice trees were lost in the storm. I hope we can plant more to replace them.
