Princeton Police Blotter: Driver Naps on Carnegie Drive, Later Flees from Police

Police noticed a car stopped in a travel lane on Carnegie Drive at 2 a.m. on Feb. 22. They approached the car and found the driver sleeping. When the driver woke up, police say he fled the scene in his vehicle. He was apprehended several minutes later on Princeton-Kingston Rd. Niraj Patel, 37, of Franklin Park was charged with driving while intoxicated and eluding police. His court date is March 4.

Police went to a home on William Livingston Court on the afternoon of Feb. 24 to make a welfare check on a resident and allegedly found the resident smoking marijuana from a water bong. Police said he was also found in possession of marijuana under 50 grams. James Beggs, 23, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia. His court date is March 4.
