libraryThe Princeton Public Library is the recipient of the 2013 American Library Association/Information Today Inc. Library of the Future Award.

The award is presented annually to a library that demonstrates innovative planning and development of patron training programs about information technology. The library won the award for its “Community Collaboration for Enhanced Technology Services” project. The goal of the project was to make the library known as a place to receive excellent technology assistance and discover technological innovations.

The library was praised for developing a flexible, inclusive technology program for all skill levels and interests that provides classes and one-on-one appointments that encourage a lifelong love of technology learning, enhance employment opportunities, harness the power of social networking, and promote work-life balance.

“We are pleased that our efforts resulted in this recognition,” Princeton Public Library Executive Director Leslie Burger said. “We’re equally pleased that the community has come to know the library as a place to discover and access technology. All of our programs are only made possible due to the generous support of the community.”
