Body Found on Train Tracks Appears to Be Missing East Windsor Teen Riley Branstrom

rileyThe West Windsor Township Police Department is investigating the death of a white male believed to be missing East Windsor resident Riley Branstrom.

Branstrom was reported missing to East Windsor Township Police Department on Monday, and police traced his cell phone to Freehold that night.  His Chevy S10 pick- up truck was located on Wallace Road in the parking lot of the Princeton Junction Train Station on Thursday afternoon. The last known coordinates of Branstrom’s cell phone were determined to be in the area of the train station.

Early this morning, the East Windsor Police Department located personal effects believed to be Brastrom’s along the tracks. Police from East Windsor and West Windsor, the Mercer County Sheriff’s K9 Unit, and the Department of Corrections K9 Unit searched the area.

At about 11 a.m.a body was found about two miles from the station matching the physical characteristics and clothing of Branstrom.  A high-speed Amtrak passenger train heading through the area reported that something was struck Monday night, but train personnel thought the train had struck an animal.

The Mercer County Medical Examiner will work o positively identify the body by early next week, police said.

    1. Yes, so sad. TCNJ student found, now this. What can be done to address these problems and help teens undergoing stress and depression? We hope there will be a community conversation on this topic.

      1. It’s truly unfortunate how the most obvious cries for help go unanswered..? May the young man rest in peace…. My baby brother went to school with the young man… I heard nothing but positive things.may he truly sleep with the angels

  1. They should put a camera on the front of the train so even if they think it is an animal they can immediately review video & possibly save a life! & may he RIP.
