Princeton Police Blotter: One-Car Accident, Underage Drinking Arrests, Vandalism

A Lawrence man flipped his car over while driving on Route 206 near Hutchinson Lane just after 3 a.m. on May 12 and was trapped inside the car. The driver, Benito Lopez-Lopez, 21, had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad and transported to a local hospital for observation. Police said an investigation revealed that Lopez-Lopez had consumed alcoholic beverages before operating his vehicle. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and other motor vehicle violations.

Police stopped a Hamilton man near the intersection of Harrison Street and Prospect Avenue and then arrested him after determining that he had an active deportation warrant. Rogelio Herrera-Quevedo, 44, was arrested just before 9 a.m. on May 11, transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center, and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Two 18 year olds were arrested just after 10 p.m. May 11 after buying alcohol from a shop on the 200 block of Nassau Street. Arthur Imperatore, 18, of Summit and Matthew Gibbons, 18, of Short Hills were observed by a police officer exiting the shop. The officer determined that both were under 21 and were using fake drivers licenses.  Both were charged with underage possession of alcohol and tampering with public records for being in possession of forged licenses.

A resident on the 200 block of Cherry Hill Road reported on May 10 that some time during the previous night, someone threw several eggs at his mailbox, causing damage to the mailbox.

A resident of David Brearly Court called police on the afternoon of May 10 to report that sometime overnight, an unknown person slashed a tire on her vehicle. The victim said another tire was slashed earlier in the week but she had not reported it.

While investigating a suspicious person call on Walnut Lane just after 3 p.m. on May 9, police talked to a resident who allegedly identified himself as someone else. Police said they discovered that a no-bail arrest warrant had been issued for Princeton resident Kairi Aeriel from the Mercer County Superior Court. Aeriel was charged with hindering apprehension and was turned over to the Mercer County Sheriff on the outstanding warrant.

During a pedestrian stop just before 11 p.m. on May 9 on the 200 block of Nassau Street, police determined that Hannah Vazquez, 22, of Brewster,  New York bought alcohol for Lyra Olson, 20, of Middlebury, Connecticut. Vazquez was issued a summons for serving alcohol to a minor, and Olson was issued a summons for being underage and in possession of alcohol, police said.
