McCarter Theatre has announced that online sign ups are now open for the theater’s annual holiday production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

McCarter seeks boys and girls ages 5 to 13 to play a variety of roles including members of the Cratchit family and Tiny Tim. All children are encouraged to audition, regardless of their level of previous acting experience. The theater is actively seeking children of all ethnicities.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 6. No auditions will be given without an appointment. Callbacks will be held on Monday, Oct. 14. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, November 14. Performances begin Friday, Dec. 6 (first preview) and conclude on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Detailed information on the audition, callback, rehearsal, and performance processes are available on the website.  For additional information or questions, please email casting@mccarter.org. The deadline to apply online for an audition is Sept. 25.

“Every year we look forward to the energy and spirit of the children who light up the stage in our much-beloved holiday production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol,” said McCarter Associate Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr.

Broadway veteran Graeme Malcolm will return to the role of Ebenezer Scrooge to lead a cast of 40 actors, dancers, and singers through this magical holiday tale.  Scrooge will take the audience on a journey through Christmas past, present, and future. Michael Unger will direct McCarter’s production of the play that has become a favorite family tradition.
