Princeton High School students swept their division in all three performance categories at the Berklee Jazz Festival in Boston this past weekend.

Students from Princeton High won first place for a”class one” large ensemble for the fifth consecutive year, first place for small ensemble, and first place for a vocal jazz ensemble.

The wins mark the first time in the 46 years of the festival that one school has taken first place in all three categories. Several students also received individual awards for outstanding musicianship.

“Beyond their excellent musical performances, our students displayed outstanding professionalism and character the entire weekend throughout the performances, clinics, and master classes,” said Princeton High Band Director Joe Bongiovi in a note about the wins. “We would like to thank all of you, K-12, for support of our students musicians.”
