Jewish Center of Princeton Preschool Expands Hours, Programming

PreschoolgThe Jewish Center Preschool of Princeton will expand its hours and programming for the 2014-15 year, school officials have announced. Starting in the fall, the preschool will be open until 6 p.m. to accommodate parents who work. The school will also have fewer holiday closings.

An afternoon enrichment program also will be offered that will be open to all preschool children in the local community.

“We have worked hard to maintain our strong curriculum and warm, nurturing environment while implementing changes to meet the needs of more community members,” said Gayle Wagner, director of The Jewish Center Preschool.

“Our school offers a social and interactive learning environment fostering outstanding kindergarten preparedness,” Wagner said. “As a synagogue preschool, our program also teaches through the lens of Jewish traditions and values, universal lessons that all children benefit from at an early age – being a good person and friend, helping those less fortunate, and making the world a better place. We encourage all new and current parents of the area to consider our new programs when shopping preschools and enrichment programs for the 2014-15 year.”

Jewish Center Preschool of Princeton parents past and present worked together with the school’s director to help institute the schedule and programming changes.

The Jewish Center Preschool was established in 1982. The school prepares children for kindergarten by cultivating a love of learning, with a focus on emotional and social development. The school also offers programs in art, music and science.

“This school has been such an integral part of who my children are,” said Lisa Jacknow, who sent two sons through the program. “They know how to develop friendships, how to think for themselves, and were more than prepared to begin kindergarten.”

The Jewish Center Preschool of Princeton is located at 435 Nassau Street in downtown Princeton. For more information about the preschool, visit the Jewish Center website.
