Beginning this Friday, July 11, at 5 a.m., Faculty Road will be closed from Alexander Street to Elm Drive for  road and sidewalk work and the construction of grade crossing improvements by NJ Transit.

Vehicles and bikes will not be allowed in the construction area during the closure, and there will be no pedestrian access to the area.

Officials estimate that the road will reopen before the evening rush hour on July 16.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Alexander Street during the Faculty Road closure, except overnight on Sunday, July 13, Monday, July 14, and Tuesday, July 15, when milling and paving work will be done at the intersection of Faculty Road and Alexander Street. Hours for overnight work are 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. During these evenings, police will be on-site and traffic will be alternated through the Faculty Road and Alexander Street intersection.

The Dinky shuttle between Princeton and Princeton Junction will be replaced with a bus the weekend of July 12-13 and during mid-day, off-peak hours July 14-15 from 9:25 a.m. until 3:25 p.m. both days. Buses will leave from the bus stop near the rail platform on the westbound side of the station at Princeton Junction, and at the bus stop on Alexander Street adjacent to the parking lot and temporary rail station in Princeton.
