Former President Bill Clinton to Visit Lawrenceville Oct. 23

Bill Clinton PrincetonFormer President Bill Clinton will attend a local fundraiser for Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman later this month.

Tickets for the event range from $500 for a reception to $2,600 for a photo with Clinton.

The fundraiser is being held in Lawrenceville at 6:30 p.m. on  Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Home of Isabella de la Houssaye and David Crane. Tickets can be reserved online.

Watson Coleman was selected in the primary race this June to be the Democratic candidate to replace U.S. Rep. Rush Holt, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

A woman has not represented New Jersey in Congress since Marge Roukema retired in 2003. Watson Coleman, a member of the Assembly since 1998, will face Republican Alieta Eck, a Somerset County doctor who was unopposed in the GOP primary. The 12th district, which covers parts of Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties, is heavily Democratic and Watson Coleman is considered the favorite to win Holt’s seat.

  1. It helps to have friends in Congress, right? Meanwhile, NRG is requesting the federal govt. help pay off the construction loans for its financially-failing Ivanpah solar generating plant in the Mojave (after all, “the sun isn’t shining enough”?).

Another example of big govt. subsidizing big business (but if it’s “green” energy, it must be ok, right?).

Don’t tell the 10’s of thousands of incinerated birds that solar power is environmentally friendly . . .
