Pedestrian Struck on Vandeventer Avenue Wednesday Night

princetonpolice_2A woman was crossing Vandeventer Avenue around 7:20 p.m. last night when she was hit by a GMC Envoy. The pedestrian suffered an arm injury and had to be taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, police said.

Lisa McComb-Graf of Princeton was traveling east on Nassau Street in a 2005 GMC Envoy and turned left onto Vandeventer Avenue. Pia St. Onge, 58, of Ivyland, Pa. was crossing Vandeventer Avenue within a crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle’s front bumper.

McComb-Graf was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation is currently finalizing the design and set up for an “all cross” pedestrian set up for the traffic lights on Nassau Street at Washington Road/Vandeventer Avenue. The changes are expected to be implemented by next fall. The intersection is considered by many to be the most dangerous intersection in Princeton.

    1. I believe it means that automobile traffic is stopped in all directions so you could theoretically cross the intersection diagonally on foot. This is already the case I think at the intersection of Nassau and 206.

  1. Glad they’re turning that into an “all-cross,” but wish they would do it sooner. I feel like I have at least one close call while crossing there every week.
