Princeton University Women’s Basketball Earns No. 8 Seed, Will Face Green Bay in Maryland

The Princeton University Women’s Basketball team, the only undefeated women’s basketball team in the nation, has earned a No. 8 seed in the Spokane Region of the NCAA Tournament and will play No. 9 seed University of Wisconsin-Green Bay at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 in college Park, Maryland.

The Princeton University Department of Athletics reacted to the announcement with disappointment on Twitter. The school had anticipated being seeded higher and possibly hosting the first round of the tournament.

The Tigers finished the regular season with a historic 30-0 record, the best regular season record ever for any Ivy League men’s or women’s basketball team. Princeton finished the regular season ranked 13th in the nation, the highest-ever national ranking for an Ivy program. Averaging a 24.9-point margin of victory, the Tigers won 28 of their games by double digits.
