University Place reopened this morning, July 6. The portion of the road between Alexander Street and College Road had been closed for almost a month so the crosswalk on University Place near McCarter Theatre could be redone. This is the third time in two years that Princeton University has built a new crosswalk at the same location.

Laurel Road will be closed to through traffic on Monday, July 6th, and Tuesday, July 7th. The road will be closed between Mount Lucas Road and Jefferson Road from 7 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m. for construction work associated with the Mount Lucas Road improvement project.

On Monday, July 6th, weather permitting, contractors will be milling and installing base pavement at the intersection of Mount Lucas Road and Stuart Road East. Mount Lucas Road will be closed from Ewing Street to Poor Farm Road between about 7 a.m. and  6 p.m.

On Monday, July 6th, through Wednesday, July 8th, weather permitting, contractors will grade and install base for the paved pathway along northbound side of Mount Lucas Road. The road will be closed to through traffic from Jefferson Road to Ewing Street between about 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The installation of Belgian block curb is planned to continue on both sides of Mount Lucas Road between Laurel Road and Cherry Hill Road Monday, July 6th, through Friday, July 10th, weather permitting. Mount Lucas Road will be closed to through traffic from Jefferson Road to Cherry Hill Road between about 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. When curbing is installed across your driveway, access to your driveway will be prohibited for the next 48 hours. Park on the side of the street, away from where the work is occurring, or work with a neighbor across the street to share their driveway. The town will notify you when access is restored to your driveway.

On Thursday, July 9th, weather permitting, CRJ Construction plans to begin the replacement of house water services and the installation or replacement of fire hydrants within the public right-of-way between Jefferson Road and Ewing Street. New Jersey American Water will provide additional notice regarding this work. Mount Lucas Road will be closed from Ewing Street to Jefferson Road between about 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. If it rains, work will proceed the following business day. Mount Lucas Road will reopen at the end of each work day. Residents are advised to use caution when driving in area and to allow additional time for travel. Provisions will be made for emergency services vehicles and for continued services such as brush collection, mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.
