Hopewell Crash Sends Three to Hospital

A man was traveling southbound along Dublin Road in Hopewell Township in a Honda Civic at about 2:45 p.m. today when he disregarded a stop sign and struck a Mercury Sable that was traveling westbound along Route 546, police said.

The Mercury Sable was driven by a 19-year-old Hopewell Township woman. The woman was transported to an area hospital by the Pennington First Aid Squad for an arm injury. An 18-year-old female passenger was transported to an area hospital for a head injury by members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services. The Honda Civic was driven by a 62-year-old Hamilton Township man. The man was removed from his vehicle and transported to an area hospital by members of the Pennington First Aid Squad for head and neck injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, police said.

County Route 546 was closed for approximately 45 minutes. Traffic was detoured around the crash scene. Assisting on scene were members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, the Pennington Fire Company, the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad and the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company.

The crash is being investigated by Hopewell Township Police Officer James Hoffman.
