Hopewell Crash Sends Seven to Hospital, Including Five Adults with Special Needs

hopewell policeA Hopewell teen was traveling along Dublin Road, heading south in a Dodge Caravan at about 3 p.m. Monday when he disregarded a stop sign and struck a Ford passenger van that was traveling westbound along Route 546.

The passenger van was driven by Mia Doney, 27, of Trenton. Five adult special needs passengers were also in the van. Doney and the five passengers were transported to an area hospital by members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services and the Pennington First Aid Squad as a precaution. They are expected to be treated and released.

The 17-year-old Hopewell resident, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, was transported to an area hospital by members of Ewing Township Emergency Services for minor lacerations. He is expected to be treated and released.

The teen was issued a summons for disregarding a stop sign. The crash is being investigated by Officer James Rosso.

County Route 546 was closed for approximately one hour. Traffic was detoured around the crash scene.

Assisting on scene were members of Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, the Pennington Fire Company, the Pennington First Aid Squad, Ewing Township Emergency Services and the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company.
