Princeton Day School Student Named 2016 YoungArts Photography Merit Winner

Princeton Day School senior Helen Healey has been named a 2016 National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner in photography.

Healey, a Princeton resident, was selected from more than 12,000 applications. She joins with 819 young artists from 42 states across the literary, visual, design, and performing arts who are being presented with this year’s honor.

Winners receive cash awards of up to $10,000, support from renowned mentors, opportunities to participate in YoungArts programs, a professional network, and guidance in taking important steps toward achieving their goals.

YoungArts alumni who have gone on to become leading professionals in their fields include actresses Anna Gunn, Viola Davis, and Kerry Washington; Broadway stars Raúl  Esparza and Billy Porter; recording artists Josh Groban and Nicki Minaj; and writers Jenji Kohan and Sam Lipsyte.
