Photos: Anchor House Day 2

The Anchor House cyclists pedaled 76.6 miles on Monday from Leominster, Mass. to Northampton, the home of Smith College. While the day was billed as “lots of rolling hills” and 4,110 feet of climbing, many of the hills were steep, and some cyclists had to walk up parts of a few of them. GPS units showed that the cyclists actually climbed 4,600 feet.

For the last 11 mile-stretch before the hotel, the cyclists pedaled along the Norwottuck Rail Trail. The trail was shady and mostly flat.

Tuesday the cyclists will pedal 65.8 miles and climb 4,671 feet as they head over the Berkshires.
