New Flash Flood Watch Issued for Our Area Until 11 p.m. Monday

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued another flash flood watch. The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Monday night for Mercer, Hunterdon, Middlesex and somerset counties in Central New Jersey.

Showers and thunderstorms have brought up to six inches of rain in some parts of the region like Princeton, West Windsor and South Brunswick, flooding the canal, roads, the train station at Princeton Junction, and some businesses.

A few additional round of rain are likely through Monday evening across the area. The additional rain could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas that have received the heaviest rainfall. The ground is already soaked so those areas will not be able to absorb the new rainfall.

Some areas could receive more than an inch of additional rain or more. A few inches of rain is possible. There will be a lull in the storm overnight.

Check back for updates Sunday and Monday. We will continue to cover this as it develops.
