Winter Weather Advisory Saturday Morning Update

Snow has changed to sleet and freezing rain in some areas and will later change to rain. Even though the roads look safe, there are patches of ice on many area roads. Police advise area residents to use caution on the roadways this morning if people must drive.

Many morning activities have been cancelled in the Princeton area. Check to see if your event will still be held before you go out.

A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect for the region beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night. One to two inches of snow was expected for Princeton and the rest of the Mercer County area. The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly reported this morning that increased ice amounts are expected from freezing rain Saturday morning.

If you shovel your driveway and sidewalks before the temperature rises to above freezing, you should treat the surface immediately or it will freeze over and become very slippery. Otherwise wait until the temperature rises to shovel.
