The 16th annual golf outing to support Princeton HealthCare System has set a new fundraising record this year, raising more $150,000 to support the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP).

More than 150 golfers participated in the golf outing, which was held June 14 at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson.

The annual event is organized by the Princeton HealthCare System Foundation. Since 2007, the foundation has earmarked the funds to benefit “Design for Healing”, the campaign to support the new hospital in Plainsboro.

Over the past five years the annual outing has raised $550,000 for the new hospital.

Lead sponsors of the outing this year were Conner Strong, an insurance, risk management, and employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm, and SEI Investments Co. Turner Construction Co. and the Scheide Fund, a private foundation that helps finance charitable projects to benefit residents of Princeton and the surrounding areas, were also major sponsors.

The Design for Healing campaign has raised about $130 million – nearly 90 percent of  the goal of $150 million – to support the new hospital, which is scheduled to open next May.
