Princeton Township Police Blotter

Police stopped a white Toyota SUV on State Road at 1:30 a.m. Saturday and found that the driver had two outstanding traffic warrants that had been issued by Hamilton Township. Police also said the driver allegedly  had prescription medication in the car that had not been prescribed by a doctor.

Christopher Ryan of Hamilton was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, speeding, driving while suspended.

He was arrested, was unable to post bail and was turned over to the custody of the Hamilton Township Police Department.

On July 27 a prisoner was released from the Burlington County Correctional Center and was immediately arrested by the Princeton Township Police for $20,000 in outstanding active warrants from the Princeton Township Municipal Court. Officers at the Burlington facility contacted the Princeton Township Police Department to notify officials of that Robert Parker of Trenton was about to be released. Parker was arrested by police from Princeton at about 4 p.m. and was unable to make bail. He was taken to the Mercer County Workhouse.

Police also arrested two other drivers recently who had outstanding warrants in other municipalities.  On July 28, a Trenton driver illegally parked a 2005 Chevy Equinox on Leigh Avenue in front of the Princeton Nursery School. The driver had a suspended license and a $355 outstanding warrant in Trenton. On July 19, a Florence driver was arrested on Stockton Street for a $1,000 outstanding warrant from Bernards Township.

The driver of a Lincoln Continental struck a Hyundai Elantra on Mercer Street at about 2:30 p.m. on July 25. Both cars were going northbound on Mercer Street near the Battlefield Park.

While both vehicles could be driven from the scene, police said the driver of the Hyundai had to be taken to the University Medical Center by the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad to have her injuries treated. The driver of the Lincoln Continental, Locherte Prophete of Hamilton, was charged with careless driving, police said.
