K-9 Dogs Help Police Find Resident’s Missing Grandson

Thanks to the help of K-9 teams from the county and the state, a 22-year-old who went missing was located about a mile from his grandmother’s home yesterday.

At about 5:30 yesterday morning a Mercer Street resident called the township police asking for help locating her emotionally disturbed grandson.

The grandson, who is visiting from California and suffers from a mental disability, walked away from her home sometime overnight and could not be located.

Officers from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, and K-9 search teams from the Mercer County Sheriffs Department and the New Jersey State Police assisted township police in their search for the grandson, whose name is being withheld by police.

The grandson was eventually located within a mile of his grandparent’s
home, was medically evaluated at the scene and then transported by the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad to Capital Health Systems for treatment.
