Art for Families, Princeton University Art Museum – “Daily Life in Ancient Greece” with drop-in art projects and self-guided tours. Free, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Navratri Raas Garba Celebration, India Foundation of Metropolitan Princeton – Dance to live Indian music during the festival of nine nights in which the goddess of Shakti is worshiped. Garba is a traditional Indian dance, lessons available. Music by Anuja Wala Group. West Windsor Plainsboro High School North, $9. Refreshments available, 7 p.m.

Mary Chapin Carpenter, McCarter Theatre – “The Age of Miracles” tour, a follow up to Carpenter’s Grammy nominated release of the same name, features a five piece band. $40 to $55., www.mccarter.org.  Matthews Theater, 91 University Place, 7:30 p.m.

Harvest and Music Festival, Witherspoon Grill – Family-friendly outdoor event features music, food, pumpkin painting, apple dipping, face painting, cooking decorating, and beer garden. Rain or shine. Portion of proceeds from food and activity sales benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Musicians include Riverside Blue Grass Band, Pi-Fight, and Franklin & Allison. Pie eating contest for all ages at 2 p.m., Vinny T’s World of Pure Imagination at 3 p.m. Donations of money and non-perishable items are also invited. Global Cinema Cafe, Princeton Public Library – Screening of “Bananas”, a film by Fredrik Gertten that sheds light on the global politics of food, 3 p.m.

Art Exhibit, Arts Council of Princeton – Opening reception for “Inscape,” recent gouache paintings by Princeton Resident Thomas George. Co-organized by Princeton Area Community Foundation. Proceeds benefit the Thomas George Fund, which provides grants to emerging artists. George’s art career has spanned six decades and his works are in Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and the Tate Gallery in London. 3-5 p.m.

Fun for All Ages with the Westminster Community Orchestra, Westminster Conservatory – A Youth Concert for everyone includes works by Britten, Beethoven, Grieg, and Bartok. Ruth Ochs conducts; Diana Crane narrates; Giles Crane on bagpipes, and Ileana Ciumac on violin. $15, Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University, 3 p.m.
