Princeton Township Police Blotter: Robberies on Maidenhead, Princeton-Kingston Roads

Three homes on the first block of Maidenhead Road were robbed some time between Dec. 22 and Dec. 24, police said. In all three cases, the thief/thieves forced entry into the victims’ homes and removed jewelry and electronics. The total amount of the items stolen has not been determined. Police say they believe all three incidents are related.

A resident reported that someone entered an unlocked BMW parked in the driveway of a home in the 900 block of Princeton-Kingston Road some time between 11 p.m. Dec. 21 and 11 a.m. Dec. 22. The burglar(s) entered the car on the passenger side and stole a black leather purse inside that contained leather gloves and designer sunglasses, police said. The offender also appear to have attempted to break in the house via double doors that led to the kitchen, but was unsuccessful because the doors were secured and the house alarm was activated. The investigation is ongoing. The value of the items stolen is estimated to be $700.

A Princeton resident was stopped by police on Washington Road on Dec. 21 and was arrested for a traffic warrant. Simon Sacke, 43, of Needham Way, was also issued a summons for driving with a suspended license. He was released on $500 bail.

A driver was pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt on Dec. 26. Eugene Stafford Jr. 44, of Trenton was also operating his motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and had been entered into the National Crime Information Center database as a Wanted Person by of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Stafford was arrested, taken to the Princeton Township Police Department for processing, and then turned over to the County Sheriff’s Department. He was was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended and for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Two cars collided at the intersection of the Great Road and Stuart Road just after 4:30 p.m on Dec. 23. Richard Lilly, 40, of Trenton was traveling south on the Great Road when his vehicle collided with a 2011 Ford driven by Anna Tarquinio, 77, of Princeton. Both drivers claimed to have the green light prior to the crash, and due to the conflicting statements and the
lack of any witnesses at the scene, no summonses were issued. Both drivers were transported to the University Medical Center at Princeton by the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad.
