Church & Dwight Donates $100,000 to Crisis Ministry

Church & Dwight awards a $100,000 grant to Crisis Ministry representatives.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. helped end the year on a bright note for the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton with a $100,000 donation.

The crisis ministry lost its Trenton food pantry on Hanover Street because of an early morning fire about a week before Christmas.

Church and Dwight awarded the Crisis Ministry with the $100,000 grant to support the agency’s post-fire recovery efforts, and its other programs that serve thousands of low-income households across Mercer County.

“Church &and Dwight is a valued partner and neighbor to us as we work together on behalf of neighbors in need,” said Crisis Ministry Executive Director Biondi in a press release about the donation. “This gift will provide direct, concrete help to our organization as we regroup from the fire and to families who struggle daily with the harsh conditions of the economy.”

Founded in 1980 by Princeton’s Nassau Presbyterian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church, the Crisis Ministry assists some 1,400 individuals and families each month who seek access to quality food, emergency housing assistance, and employment training and mentoring. The Crisis Ministry also partners with Capital Health System to provide bimonthly health screenings hosted by First Presbyterian Church of Trenton and with Rutgers Extension Service for bilingual nutrition education.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc., which is headquartered in Princeton, manufactures and markets a wide range of products, including the Arm & Hammer brand.

“We are pleased to be able to support the assistance provided by the Crisis Ministry to those in need,” said Church & and Dwight representative Angela Olsen, who presented the award to Biondi and Crisis Ministry employees Dec. 30 at the Crisis Ministry’s temporary headquarters.
