Princeton School Board Slated to Approve New Teachers Contract in Early February

Teachers at a rally calling for a new contract earlier this year.

The school board expects to officially approve a new three-year contract with teachers at a special board meeting Feb. 7, School Board President Rebecca Cox announced at the board’s meeting this week.

“The contract is moving through the ratification process and we look forward to officials approving it at our next meeting,” Cox said.

In a statement to the press this week, Joanne Ryan, head of the teachers union, the Princeton Education Association, said a ratification vote is expected to take place at the end of next week.

Terms of the contract will not be release until both the union and the board have officially approved the contract, Ryan said.
