Princeton Township and Borough Police Blotter: Porsche Causes Chain-Reaction Collision

Four cars were involved in a crash at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, that resulted in three drivers suffering minor injures. Route 206 was closed for more than an hour because of the accident, police said. A Porsche Boxter driven by Hamilton resident Holly Reynolds, 55, struck a Toyota Camry driven by a Hillsborough resident. The collision caused a chain reaction, and two other vehicles were hit, a GMC truck driven by Edward Mann of Glassboro, and a Toyota Corolla driven by Mary Ervin of Cherry Hill. Two of the drivers had cuts and bruises and one complained of neck, back and shoulder pain as a result of the accident, police said. Reynolds was charged with careless driving and failure to have her vehicle inspected.

On March 13, a township police officer stopped a 2001 Toyota Spyder Convertible on the Great Road after observing that it did not have a valid inspection sticker. Police determined that the driver, Daniel S. Ferlisi of East Windsor, had an expired drivers license and an active traffic warrant out of West Windsor for $500. Ferlisi, 29, was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he posted his full bail in cash. He was later released after receiving summonses for failure to inspect and driving with an expired license.

Police responded to reports of a suspicious male on the 800 block of Bunn Drive just before noon on March 12. When police arrived the person had already left. Patrols checked the surrounding area and located an individual matching the person’s description on a nearby street. Justin Perona, 18, Runnemede NJ, was discovered to have two active warrants out for his arrest. He was taken into custody, processed and later released on his own recognizance.

An Audi A4 parked overnight on Preservation Place was entered some time the evening of March 11 or early March 12. The driver reported that both the glove compartment and trunk area were rifled through. No loss was reported by the victim and the incident remains under investigation.

A vehicle hit a cyclist when trying to pass the cyclist on Rosedale Road near Greenway Meadows Park just before 3:30 p.m. on March 10. When police arrived the cyclist, Ching Chen of Montgomery Township, was found injured in the center of the road. The Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad transported the cyclist to the University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment. Richard Schild of Princeton attempted to pass the cyclist in his Nissan Pathfinder and the cyclist impacted with right side of the vehicle, police said. No summonses were issued at the scene pending further investigation.

On Friday, March 9th, township police conducted a motor vehicle stop on State Road during and found that the driver, Nicole Gabauer of Princeton, had an active criminal warrant for $1,000.00 out of Freehold Township. Gabauer, 21, was placed under arrest and taken to the Princeton Township Police Department, where she was processed and released on bail. She was issued a motor vehicle summons for driving with an expired driver’s license.

A Borough resident was charged with harassment, contempt of court, and violating a restraining order on March 15. Michael Zingaro, 41, allegedly violated the terms of a final restraining order by purposely contacting and harassing the person who took out the restraining order. The victim’s name is being withheld. Zingaro was released on $5,000 bail and his court date has been set for March 26.
