Princeton Borough Police Blotter: Thieves Target Unlocked Cars in Various Neighborhoods

A thief or thieves entered at least 18 unlocked vehicles in various Princeton Borough neighborhoods between March 16 and March 18 and stole items from them, police said. Six vehicles on Hawthorne Avenue had items stolen, five vehicles on Westcott Road, five vehicles on Jefferson Road, one vehicle on Hunter Road, and one vehicle on Linden Lane. Each vehicle was unlocked at the time of the incidents and items that were in plain view from the exterior of the vehicle were stolen, police said. Items taken included cash, purses, credit cards, electronics and other miscellaneous items. In one incident, a bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage as well.  All vehicles were parked in the driveways of the owners’ residences.  This investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information related to these incidents should contact the Princeton Borough Police Department Detective Bureau at (609) 924-4141.  Police are reminding residents to keep their vehicles locked when unoccupied.

Lora Demarffy-Mantuano, 30, of Princeton was charged with driving while intoxicated after she attempted to exit the Spring Street Garage and was unable to negotiate the exit, police said. She requested assistance, and responding officers determined that she was driving while intoxicated. Her court date has been set for March 26.

A Princeton resident was observed providing alcoholic beverages to someone under the legal drinking age on Witherspoon Street on March 17, police said. Barry Gramajo, 26, of Princeton Township was charged with providing alcoholic beverages to a minor and Miles Johnson, 20, of Willingboro was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages by a minor. Their court date is March 26.
