Friday, March 23

Bryn Mawr-Wellesley Book Sale – One of the biggest used book sales on the East Coast, with more than 80,000 books. Raises money for college scholarships. Held at Princeton Day School, 650 Great Road. Friday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday half price day 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday $10 a box 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Travesties, McCarter Theatre – Tom Stoppard’s comedy set in Zurich, 1917, directed by Sam Buntrock. Matthews Theatre, tickets $20-$60. Pre-show talks 45 minutes before each performance. Showing Friday at 8, Saturday at 3 and 8, Sunday at 2. www.mccarter.org.

Saturday, March 24

Melanoma Walk, Mercer County Park – Walk in honor or memory of someone you know who has been diagnosed with Melanoma, or walk to support the cause. The event is open to the entire community and all proceeds will benefit the Melanoma International Foundation. Children and pets are welcome.  Vendors with information and products to help you keep safe from the sun. 10 a.m.-1 p.m., $25 registration fee.

Local Author Day, Princeton Public Library  – Writing workshops begin at 10 a.m., readings by local authors 1-4 p.m. Scott Morgan, author of “Character Development from the Inside Out,”  will talk about character development at 10 a.m. Karen Miller, author of “Finish Your Book! A Time Management Guide for Writers” will discuss time management.  Displays and book signings by 24 authors.

Opening Reception, “Arnold Roth: A Selection of Work from Area Collections”– An exhibit at the Arts Council of Princeton featuring original works by Roth on loan from Princeton collectors and friends of the artist. Roth talks about his works in cartoon and signs books of his work. Exhibit on view until April 7. 4-6 p.m., free.

Cafe Improv, Arts Council of Princeton – Stop by Cafe Improv and see why it is one of the best cheap dates in Princeton. Poetry, comedy and music, including Black Cat Habit. 7-10 p.m. (you can drop in any time), tickets $2.

Screening of “Sing Your Song”, Princeton Public Library – Documentary about the life and times of singer, actor, and human rights activist Harry Belafonte. 7 p.m., free.

Fund 101 Scholarship Dance Fundraiser –  Boogie down and support a good cause at the same time. Fund 101 supports scholarships for Princeton High School grads in need of tuition assistance, providing many scholarships to students who will be first generation collegians in their families. Party includes food and music, and a silent auction, with donations from local businesses and services. Tickets still available at the door for $100. Event runs from 7-11 pm at the Carl Fields Center at 58 Prospect Avenue.

Sunday, March 25

Les Paul and Mary Ford Tribute Concert, Princeton Public Library – Tom and Sandy Doyle share memories of Les Paul and his interpretation of big band swing style jazz arrangements. They will perform on guitars, flute, percussion, and vocals. Their new CD, “A Tribute to Les, Mary, and More” will be available after the performance. 3 p.m., free.

Westminster Conservatory Showcase – The Westminster Children’s Choir, Princeton Charter School, Westminster Conservatory Youth Orchestra, Westminster Community Orchestra, and Trenton Children’s Chorus will perform. Winners of the concerto competition will also perform a concerto movement with the orchestra. Richardson Auditorium, Princeton University, 3 p.m., tickets $15.

Nassau at Four Series, Nassau Presbyterian Church – Meagan Woods and Company will be joined by a dance company to present an afternoon of original choreography. Dance collaborators include Lauren Connolly, Molly Galbraith, Kyle Marshall, Nicholas Ruiz, and Nyssi Robinson. Reception follows. Free-will offering. Will be performed in the Gambrell Room, Scheide Hall, Princeton Theological Seminary, 4 p.m.

Candlelight Concert for Epilepsy Awareness – Organized by Eric Miller in honor of Carolina Barbelos Carniero de Oliveira Miller, his wife who died last year at the age of 25. Performers include Dan Reed Band, Jeffrey Gaines, Mark Evans, Sandy Hall, and Martha Curtis. Benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of America and the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey.  At the Rho Waterfront (formerly KatManDu) in Trenton, 6:30 p.m., tickets $20.
