Princeton Township Employee Named Mercer County Young Engineer of the Year

Princeton Township engineering assistant Anthony Soriano has been named young engineer of the year by the Professional Engineers Society of Mercer County.

Soriano, 31,  is employed as Engineering Assistant with the Township of Princeton, where he has been actively involved in the planning, design, construction management and successful completion of numerous million dollar plus infrastructure improvement projects since 2005.

He has worked on various township projects, including the Stony Brook regional bicycle and pedestrian pathway and bridges, the rehabilitation of the Mountain Lakes Dams, Hilltop Skate Park, and the Reconstruction of Clearview Avenue, Grover Avenue, Dorann Avenue and Tee-Ar Place.

A Raritan Borough native, Soriano received the award for the 2011 year in recognition of his work with the Princeton Township Engineering Department that has served to significantly improve the quality of life for the residents of Princeton.  The organization also cited his service to his hometown and his participation in numerous civic and community affairs.

“I am honored to receive such a prestigious award from the society and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for the Township of Princeton,” Soriano said.
