The Princeton High School Science Bowl team placed seventh in the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl in Washington D.C.

Princeton High students competed with 68 other regional high school teams and won a $1,000 award for their seventh place finish. They also took first place in their round-robin division challenge and won $500 in prize money for that win.

Princeton team captain Sadik Shahidain and teammates Sasha Chhabra, Yiuval Wigderson, Katherine Huang, and Enric Boix scored the best of any first-time team at the 2012 national competition.  The team is coached by Tim Anderson and Andrea Panagakis.

The National Science Bowl was held April 26 -30. The competition is a fast-paced “Jeopardy-style” face-off that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science.
