Are You There, McPhee? at McCarter Theatre – World premiere of John Guare’s play focusing on a playwright sucked into the tangle of lives of a pair of abandoned children. Directed by Sam Buntrock. Princeton in Transition: Task Force Update and Dialogue – A public forum presented by the Transition Task Force of the two Princetons about transition progress, challenges, issues and concerns. Hosted by Princeton Future at the Princeton Public Library Community Room, 9a.m.-noon.

Spring Fling, Princeton Shopping Center – Pony rides, petting zoo, crafts, puppet shows, rescue animal information, sidewalk sales, dance performance, pet fashion show, and more, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Designer Showhouse and Gardens XVII, Junior League of Greater Princeton – Spaces have been transformed by interior designers and landscape architects. Proceeds benefit community programs. Priory Court, 124 Edgerstoune Road, Princeton, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, tickets  $25.

Kite Day, Terhune Orchards – Bring your own kite or buy one in the farm store. Tour the orchards on a tractor-drawn farm wagon, ride the ponies, and enjoy country food. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. rain or shine both Saturday and Sunday, free. Music noon-4 p.m. Winery tasting room open noon to 5 p.m.

Morven in May, Morven Museum – Celebration of art, craft, and garden. Free admission for plant sale. $10 for art and craft show, 10a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 11a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Princeton Public Library – Crafts, food, and entertainment to mark the Mexican holiday. Outside,  4 -5:30 p.m., free.

Spring Concert, Westminster Choir College – Ruth Ochs conducts the Westminster Community Orchestra at the Princeton Presbyterian Church, 8 p.m. Tickets $15.

Drum Circle, Princeton Center for Yoga & Health – African drums, native American drums, and Cuban drums in prescribed rhythms. For ages 6 to 106. Led by Mark Wood. No experience necessary. At the new facility at Orchard Hill Center, 88 Orchard Road, Skillman. 8-9 p.m., tickets $15.

Princeton Brass Band Season Finale – Princeton Brass Band in concert, Stephen Arthur Allen conducts. Luedeke Theater, Rider University, 1 p.m., Free.

Richardson Chamber Players, Princeton University Concerts – ‘Constable & Landscape,’ a program of works by Debussy, Beethoven, Britten, and Schumann, presented by the resident ensemble, Richardson Auditorium, 3 p.m.,  tickets $15.

Stretto Youth Chamber Orchestra, Princeton Public Library – Princeton-based string ensemble with 35 musicians ages 7-18 performs a repertoire of compositions from the Baroque to early 20th century. 4 p.m., Free.

All Breed Dog Show, Trenton Kennel Club – Annual all breed dog show and obedience trials. Show features thousands of dogs, representing 160 breeds and varieties. Rain or shine.  Mercer County Park, Hughes Drive entrance, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Tickets $5.
