Database of New Princeton Voting Districts Has Errors

The state database of the new Princeton voting locations for the June 5 primary has errors that appear to be limited to a small number of addresses, Planet Princeton has learned.

In the searchable database, a handful of residents of Harris Road near the University Medical Center are assigned to District 19, which is on the other side of town. The polling place for District 21 is Riverside Elementary School.

The new voting district map appears to have streets assigned to their proper districts. Most Harris Road residents are assigned to District 11. The polling location is the Community Park School.

A resident who searched an address on Harris Road alerted Planet Princeton to the problem.  Local and county officials are looking into the issue.

Check your polling location. Does it seem right? If it is on the other side of town it is most likely an error.

When you search for your polling location, make sure you type the full name of your street with no abbreviations. A search for a “Henry Ave” address resulted in the response “no matches found” but a search for “Henry Avenue” brought up the proper polling location.
