Princeton Forum on New Jersey Charter Schools Set for Saturday Afternoon

The group Save Our Schools is hosting what has been billed as a town hall forum to discuss state policies regarding charter schools.

The forum called “Education Games Trenton is Playing: Who Will Be Left Standing?” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Labyrinth Books on Nassau Street in downtown Princeton tomorrow, June 9.

Princeton Superintendent of Schools Judy Wilson, Jennifer Keyes-Maloney of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, and Julia Sass Rubin of Save our Schools NJ will speak. State legislators from the 16th District have also been invited to the forum, which is being moderated by Princeton Township Mayor Chad Goerner.

Topics that will be discussed include whether New Jersey communities are losing local control of public education, how the proposed state budget will affect public school funding, and whether virtual charter schools are coming to the state.
