Resurfacing Work Slated to Begin on Two Area Roads This Monday

Milling and resurfacing work is scheduled to begin on Rosedale Road between Provinceline Road and Constitution Hill this Monday, July 2. Mercer County officials expect the project to last about 10 business days.

During construction weekdays, the road will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect delays in the area. Emergency vehicles, businesses and homeowners will be allowed access during the project.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured as follows: Traffic will travel from southbound Elm Road, make a right on Route 206 South, a right on Provinceline Road, and then follow to Rosedale Road. Westbound traffic will travel southbound on Provinceline Road, make a left on Route 206 south, a left on Elmand then follow to Rosedale Road.

In West Windsor, resurfacing on Wallace Road will begin on or about July 2 as well. Improvements being made in the project include handicap ramps, casting replacements, milling and resurfacing of pavement, and  improved striping and pavement reflectors. The project is expected to be completed within 30 days. In the event of inclement weather, work may be rescheduled or delayed.

The road will remain open to traffic at all times, with alternate traffic during non-peak hours. Minor traffic delays may occur when attempting to pass through the area when heavy equipment is active. During the placement of the new pavement surface course, road and driveway access may be limited temporarily, officials said.

Parking for the Princeton Junction Train Station at West Windsor will remain open at all times, but access may be limited for a short period during final paving work.

Tack oil will be sprayed on the roadway surface prior to final paving operations. The public is advised not to ride through the tack oil, as it may get onto your vehicle and may be difficult to remove.

Editor’s Note: The Rosedale Road project has been delayed until July 16.
