Boards, Committie and Commission Applications Now Being Accepted for the United Princeton

Calling all Princeton Borough and Princeton Township residents who would like to help shape the new Princeton: Applications are now being accepted for municipal boards, committees and commissions in the consolidated Princeton.

Residents who would like to apply to serve in 2013 can submit applications online at www.princetonnj.gov, or can drop off or mail hard copy applications to Princeton Township Municipal Clerk Linda McDermott  at 400 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ 08540.

Applications will be accepted until Election Day on Tuesday, November 6.  Hard copies of the application form are available in the Borough and Township clerk’s offices, and at the Princeton Public Library.

All Boards, Commissions, and Committees for Princeton Borough and Township will cease to exist as of December 31. This means all terms of office for boards, committees and commissions in both municipalities end that day. The new mayor of the consolidated Princeton, with the consent of the new Council, will select new members to serve on the boards, committees, and commissions in early 2013.  Officials expect that, prior to January 1, the new mayor-elect and new council-elect will develop a process to review all applications in order to be in a position to name new board, committee and commission members as soon as practical, beginning the first of the year, with the highest priority placed on those bodies governed by state law.
