Princeton Township Police Blotter: Car Accidents, Bike and Coach Bag Thefts

Just after 6 p.m. Monday, three cars collided while traveling southbound on the 300 block of Alexander Street, police said. A Honda driven by Mary Anderson Cagno, 38, of New Hope, Pa., struck the rear of a Nissan driven by Carolyn Campbell-McGovern, 50, of West Windsor, police said. That impact forced the Nissan into the rear of a Toyota driven by Isaac Antebi, 76, of Somerset. Campbell-McGovern complained of neck pain at the scene, but refused treatment. As a result of the police investigation, Cagno was issued a summons for careless driving.

A driver making a delivery on the 100 block of Drakes Corner Road Monday morning stopped his Ford truck to enter a driveway. The driver, Jose Encarnation, 19, of Trenton, backed up the vehicle and hit a Lexus driven by Elizabeth Sands, 53, of Princeton, police said. Encarnation was issued a summons for careless driving.

A resident from the Riverside area of Princeton Township called police Sunday to report a boater on the water at dusk, and told police the individual was dumping unknown items into the water at the Princeton-Kingston boat launch. Township patrols found the person, Bradford Feldman, 50, of Fair Lawn, and determined that he was in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia, police said. Feldman was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and was later released to a relative.

An unlocked bicycle was reported stolen from the Community Park South area Sunday afternoon between 2:50 and 3:10. The bike, a child’s bicycle, was valued at $300.

A driver rear ended another driver on the 300 block of Alexander Road just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 11, police said. Christopher Trenholm, 46, of Princeton was driving the Honda that struck the rear end of the BMW driven by Michelle Baum, 23, of Malanapan, police said. Trenholm was issued a summons for careless driving as a result of the investigation.

Another three-car accident took place on Alexander Street on Oct. 11, but on the 100 block. Patrick Hough, 28, of West Windsor, was traveling north on Alexander in a Volvo. Police said his car struck the rear of a Chevy driven by Efrian Hernandez, 45, of Princeton. The Chevy then was pushed forward into the rear of an Acura that was stopped in traffic. The Acura was driven by Herbert Scheuren III of West Windsor, police said. All three vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, and Hough was issued a summons for careless driving, police said.

A U.S. Postal Service truck was parked in a no parking zone Oct. 9 when it was struck by an Audi, police said. The truck driver, Jonathan Hannawacker, 36, of Hamilton, was issued a summons for parking illegally. The Audi driver, Cheryl Mintz, 50, of Princeton was issued a summons for improper backing, police said.

A Coach handbag containing an iPod was stolen during an event at Jasna Polana on Oct. 6, police said. The value of the items stolen was estimated to be $430.

A backpack was stolen from a common area of the Hun School on Sept. 13 or 14, but the theft was not reported until Oct. 5. The backpack contained a MacBook, a scientific calculator, and other personal items. The total value of the loss was unknown at the time the victim reported the theft.
