Princeton Township Police Blotter: Car Accidents, Thefts, Signs Vandalized

A resident of the first block of Leigh Avenue reported that several items were stolen from his home in Dec. 4. A police investigation revealed that two antique heaters and a chandelier were taken from the basement. The items were  valued at $350. Police said it was unclear when the items were stolen, and that the theft may have been related to work that was done in the home in October.

A resident of the 300 block of Redding Circler reported to police that some time during the day on Dec. 4, someone entered the resident’s home. There was nothing missing. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

On Dec. 1 a Belle Mead resident failed to stop at the stop sign on Ewing Street at the Terhune Road intersection and the driver collided with another car, causing severe damage to both vehicles, police said. Gao Hong, 37, failed to stop his Ford at the intersection and struck a car driven by William Belfi, 23, of North Brunswick. Belfi complained of knee pain but refused treatment at the scene, police said. Hong was issues a summons for failure to stop or yield.

A woman who was driving west on Herrontown Road near Herrontown Lane veered off the road and struck a tree in the early evening on Nov. 28. Michelle Klausner, 28, of Hoboken told police she became distracted while driving and her Toyota left the road and hit the tree. The vehicle had to be towed front he scene, police said. Klausner was issued a summons for careless driving.

A Blackberry was reported stolen from an unsecured office on the 100 block of Poor Farm Road some time between 5 p.m. Nov. 26 and 10:30 a.m. Nov. 27, police said. The value of the Blackberry was estimated to be $500.

During the snow storm on the morning of Nov. 27, police responded to 14 car accidents and another 24 vehicles that slid off the roads with no damage. All of the incidents were storm related and non of the incidents resulted in injuries that required medical attention, police said.

Some equipment was stolen from a construction site on the 300 block of Bunn Drive some time between 6 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 27, police said. There was no sign of forced entry, and the value of the equipment could not be determined at the time of the report, police said.

A Toyota was sideswiped by a Buick on Lawrenceville Road near Quaker Road just after 11 p.m.  on Nov. 26, police said. Nicole Deschamps, 49, of Newtown had just entered the roadway an was traveling south in her Toyota when it was sideswiped by the Buick, driven by Kelly Pedersen, 52, of Mt. Holly. No summons was issued in the incident and the crash remains under investigation.

Some time between Nov. 20 and Nov. 22, someone defaced two signs on the 1000 block of Herrontown Road with black spray paint, police said. The estimated value of the signs was $325.
