Princeton Police Blotter: Firemen Rescue Deer on Lake Carnegie

A deer was trapped on the ice on Lake Carnegie near the Washington Road bridge Sunday afternoon, police confirmed. The Princeton Fire Department responded at the scene and firefighters were able to push the deer off the ice with a fire hose.  The deer was healthy and left the area after the rescue, Capt. Nick Sutter said.

Early Sunday morning an officer on routine patrol found a vehicle parked on the sidewalk of Washington Rd., police said.  An investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated, police said. Christopher Murcray, 26, of Norfolk, New York was charged with driving while intoxicated. His court date is Feb. 4.

Just after 7 p.m. on Jan. 26, a Chestnut Street resident reported an unwanted person in their home. When police arrived they discovered that the unwanted visitor had an active warrant from Cumberland County for failing to appear in court on criminal charges. Roberto Maldonado was arrested and was found in possession of a hypodermic needle and multiple decks of heroin.  He was charged with multiple counts of narcotics possession with intent to distribute and lodged in the Mercer County Detention Center. His bail was set at $40,000.
