Elements Chef Scott Anderson Is Named a Semifinalist for James Beard Award

AndersonThe James Beard Foundation has announced that Scott Anderson, chef of Elements, has been named a semifinalist for the James Beard Awards Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic.

This prestigious distinction comes just four years after opening Elements.

“It’s an honor to be named a semifinalist by the Beard Foundation,” Anderson said. “My team and I put all of our energy into creating a memorable dining experience for our guests, and it feels amazing to be recognized in this way.”

Anderson is known for serving progressive cuisine, made from the fresh local products brought to his door each day. At elements, he says he and his team approach cooking as a constant learning process, always striving to push boundaries and drive the restaurant forward.

This spring Anderson will be opening a second restaurant in Princeton, Mistral, which will be located across from the Princeton Public Library at the site of the former Ichiban restaurant.

The 2013 James Beard Foundation Awards will take place May 5 and 6 in New York City.
