Princeton Police Blotter: Car Accident, Stolen Bike

A driver headed southbound on Route 206 near Edgerstoune Road was stopped in traffic waiting to turn into a driveway when she was struck by another car at about 3 p.m. on April 22. Frances Dambrisi, 82, of Princeton was stopped in traffic in her Red Mercedes Benz when Andrew Foster, 18, of Brick allegedly struck the rear of the Mercedes in his black GMC wagon. The impact pushed the Mercedes into the northbound lane. The GMC continued southbound,  left the side of the roadway,  and hit several mailboxes prior to stopping. Dambrisi complained of chest pain, and Foster suffered cuts to his face. Both drivers were transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro by the Princeton First Aid Squad. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and the roadway was closed for approximately 50 minutes during the investigation. Foster was charged with careless driving.

A bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a home of the first block of Maple Street some time over night on April 22. The theft was reported to police the next morning. The bicycle was a silver and black boy’s Trek bicycle. The  bicycle was unlocked at the time of the theft, police said.

Two Leigh Avenue residents were allegedly drinking alcohol in a public area on Witherspoon Street just before 11 p.m. on April 24 when police spotted them. A local Princeton ordinance forbids people to drink alcohol in public places. The two men,  Rony Salguero, 22, and Amilcar Alonzo, 33, were charged with an open container violation.
