Princeton Area Fourth of July Events and Information

 July 3

Princeton Farmers’ Market  – The market will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market offers seasonal produce from local farmers, flowers, crafts and a variety of edibles.  The market is ordinarily held on Thursdays, but is being held Wednesday this week due to the Fourth of July holiday.

NJ Transit – Extra outbound trains heading out of New York will operate on the Northeast Corridor lines starting at approximately 1 p.m.

Spirit of Princeton Fireworks –   The annual Princeton Fourth of July fireworks, hosted by the Spirit of Princeton. The best viewing site is from the Princeton University sports fields immediately next to The University Stadium. Fields open at 7 p.m. for picnicking, fireworks at dusk, usually shortly after 9 p.m..  Rain or shine. No alcoholic beverages allowed.

July 4

The Princeton Public Library will be closed.

Trash Collection for Princeton Residents – If your trash is ordinarily picked up on Thursdays, please put your trash out before 7 a.m. Friday for pick up this week.

NJ Transit – Trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule. July 5 trains will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Morven Museum & Garden July 4th Jubilee – Celebration featuring the Riverside Bluegrass Band from 12-3 p.m. at 55 Stockton Street in Princeton. Free.

Princeton Battlefield State Park Open House – Open house 11 a.m. to -3 p.m. at 500 Mercer Street. Revolutionary War period soldiers, from Mott’s 6th Company, 2nd Continental Artillery will demonstrate drill, artillery, and flintlock muskets. The Clarke House volunteers will demonstrate period domestic skills. Period games will be available for children to try. The Thomas Clarke House and the Arms of the Revolution exhibit will be open to tour. A Battle of Princeton talk and reading of the Declaration of Independence will begin at 1 p.m. Bring a picnic, hiking on the trails.

Princeton Summer Concert Series at the Shopping Center – Swingadelic will perform from 6-8 pm in the Princeton Shopping Center Courtyard at 301 North Harrison Street. Free.

Trenton Capital Singers – Performance at 7 p.m. on the Trent House grounds at 15 Market Street in Trenton. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. The grounds will be open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking and the first floor of the Trent House Museum will be open for special evening tours.

July 5 

South Brunswick Independence Day Celebration – Celebration from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the fields of Crossroads Middle School. The school is located on the corner of Major Road and Kingston Lane. Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9 p.m. The primary location for parking will be Crossroads South Middle School parking lots off Kingston Lane. There will be no general parking at the Crossroads North parking lots off Georges Road. Additional parking will be at the South Brunswick Public Library and the Municipal Complex. Free.

Lawrence Independence Day Celebration – Concert at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at dusk on the Rider University Campus. Free.
