Princeton Area Road Construction Project Update: Washington Road and Route 206 Work Starts, Other Projects Continue

Washington Road will be closed between Ivy Lane and Faculty Road for water main work from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. beginning tonight, Aug. 13, through Aug. 16.  Detours are posted around the area.

Work along Alexander Street and University Place for Princeton University’s arts and transit project is ongoing. Times and specific locations will vary, officials said.

There will be lane closures at the D&R Canal Bridge Thursday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic will be alternating through the work area.

detourTraffic will alternate on Dickinson Street through Aug. 16 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Snowden Lane is closed between Franklin Avenue and Nassau Street through Aug. 16, from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Detours are posted in the area.

River Road is closed  between Herrontown Road and the Montgomery Township border (Blue Spring Road) for utility work through Aug. 14, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Detours are posted around the area. The tree work on River Road begun in July in southern Montgomery Township has been completed and that portion of River Road is now open.

Route 206 repaving work begins Wednesday, Aug. 14. The New Jersey Department of Transportation is about to begin re-surfacing Route 206from Bridgepoint Road to the northern end of Montgomery, continuing into Hillsborough.  The work will continue for several weeks.  According to the DOT, all work is weather dependent and subject to change. The area of work will be from Bridgepoint Road (north end) to north of Belle Mead-Griggstown Road before the Pike Run entrance.  The project then stops and resumes from above the new CSX railroad bridge into Hillsborough past Amwell Road (Rt. 514), ending at Doctor’s Way. There will be no posted detour as there will be temporary one lane closures and alternating traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday thru Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. Expect delays during these hours.
