Princeton Police Blotter: $3,700 Worth of Electronics Stolen from Radio Shack, Construction Equipment Taken from John Witherspoon School

princetonpolice_2A Trenton resident was charged with harassment and criminal trespass on Aug. 13 just after 9 p.m. when he showed up at an office on the 100 block of Nassau Street after he had been asked to leave by police. Patrols responded to an office on the report of an unwanted person at that location and made contact with Cezary Wisniewski, 63, who was told to leave the office at the request of the tenant. Wisniewski returned to the office a short time later and was placed under arrest.

A car parked in a lot along the 100 block of Nassau Street was broken into on the evening of Aug. 13. Entry was gained through an open window, and damage occurred to the interior of the vehicle during the incident.

A contractor doing work at John Witherspoon Middle School reported to police Aug. 13 that sometime between July 30 and the time of the call, an unknown person or persons removed electrical equipment that was being stored at the school while work was being done there. The value of the equipment was estimated at $1,500.

The manager of the Radio Shack at the Princeton Shopping Center called police on the afternoon of Aug. 13 to report that during a routine store inventory, it was discovered that approximately $3,700 worth of electronics was missing from the store’s surplus. The loss occurred sometime between July 28 and the time of the call. It was unknown if any or all the items had been shoplifted from the store.

The driver of a Honda Element struck a Toyota Corolla, which then hit a Toyota Camry just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 12 on State Road near Herrontown Road. All three vehicles were traveling northbound, just north of Herrontown Road, when the accident happened. Meredith Kiani, 38, of West Caldwell allegedly hit the car of Pooja Patel, 21, of Lawrenceville. Patel’s car then struck the  Camry belonging to Adeline Malebranche, 58, of Hillsborough. As a result of the crash, Patel complained of head pain and was transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment. Kiani was issued a summons for careless driving.
