4th Annual Princeton Human Services Book Bag Drive Helps 150 Children Prepare for School

book bagThanks to the efforts of the many donors who contributed to the annual Princeton Human Services Commission Book Bag Drive, the commission was able to provide approximately 150 Princeton school children in kindergarten through sixth grade with backpacks filled with school supplies. in preparation for the new school year, which begins next week in the Princeton Public Schools.

The Rotary Club, the Princeton Police Department, thePrinceton police union, Christine’s Hope for Kids, and many individuals contributed to the drive to make it a success.

Jose Rodas, a Princeton High School student who is entering the 11th grade, worked on this project for the summer and was a key person in the success of the program. Rodas worked on the advertisement of the drive, receiving donations, stuffing book bags, and coordinating the distribution of the book bags

“The department looks forward to continue the book bag drive next year and provide this service to the Princeton families,” Princeton Human Services Executive Director Elisa Neira said.
