Polls Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday for School Board, Council, County Freeholder, State Elections

For the first time, voters in Princeton will elect school board members in the general election tomorrow. Previously the school board was elected and the school budget was voted on in a separate election in the spring.

The polls are open from 6 a.m to 8 p.m. If you lost your sample ballot and are not sure where to vote, you can look up your polling location online.

Four candidates are vying for three seats on the school board. Five candidates are listed on the ballot, but candidate Dennis Scheil dropped out too late for his name to be removed from the ballot. Incumbents Molly Chrein and Andrea Spalla are seeking re-election, and newcomers Meeta Khatri and Thomas Hagedorn are seeking three-year terms on the board as well.

Three candidates are vying for two seats on the Princeton Council. Incumbents Jenny Crumiller and Patrick Simon are seeking another term on the all-Democrat council. Newcomer Fausta Rodriguez Wertz is the lone Republican seeking a seat. Normally terms are for three years, but after the two Princetons consolidated, elected officials drew straws for terms, which must be staggered. Simon and Crumiller drew straws for one-year terms.
