Screening of “The Great Gatsby” – Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the most recent film version of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic about a Midwesterner living on Long Island who is fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Princeton Public Library Community Room, 6:30 p.m., free.

Audra McDonald Performs at McCarter Theatre – Star of Broadway, television, opera, film, and concert stage visits Princeton, 8 p.m., tickets $20 and up.

Saturday, November 23

Final West Windsor Farmers’ Market of the Season – Veggies, breads, flowers, handmade soaps and more. Vaughn Drive Parking Lot, Princeton Junction Train Station, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,

YWCA Crafters Marketplace – Visit the annual craft fair at the John Witherspoon Middle School for all your holiday shopping.  Juried show features more than 140 professional artisans selling jewelry, pottery, soaps, clothing and other gift items. Proceeds benefit the YWCA Pearl Bates Scholarship fund. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission $8.

Historic English Dancing Open House – Morris Dancing, Molly Dancing and Rapper Sword Dancing are sometimes called ritual dancing because the dances were performed seasonally. The Princeton-based ritual dance teams Griggstown Lock Rapper, Handsome Molly, and Millstone River Morris are excited to introduce the community to the dances in this afternoon of demos, workshops and videos. 2 p.m. is Rapper Sword Dancing with Griggstown Lock Rapper, 3 p.m. is Cotswold Morris Dancing with Millstone River Morris, 4 p.m. is  Molly Dancing with Handsome Molly. Crescendo: Musicians on the Rise Series featuring Joseph Burke on Viola  – Program consisting of Walton’s Viola Concerto, Brahms’ Viola Sonata in F Minor and Bach’s Cello Suite no 3. Princeton Public Community Room, 4 p.m., free.

Cafe Improv – Music, stand up comedy, poetry and more at the Princeton Arts Council on Witherspoon Street from 7 to 10 p.m., admission $2, $1 for Arts Council members, students and seniors.

Capitol Steps Returns to Princeton – The political satire of the Capitol Steps is sure to make you laugh regardless of your political leanings. Proceeds benefit the Princeton Senior Resource Center. 7:30 p.m. at Stuart Country Day School auditorium, 1200 Stuart Rd. in Princeton. Reception follows performance. Tickets $50 and up.

“Catching Fire” Special Screening for Teens – Corner House is taking over the Princeton Garden Theater. For just $8, you will get a ticket to the 8 p.m. showing of “Catching Fire” and an unlimited amount of popcorn and soda. Pet Photo Op Morning with Santa– Shoppers and their furry, four-legged friends are invited to join Quaker Bridge Mall’s annual Pet Photo Morning from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to take a holiday photo with Santa at the holiday tree in the center court.

Klez Dispensers Hanukkah Concert – The Klez Dispensers perform at the Arts Council of Princeton to kick off the Hanukkah festivities in Princeton early. The Klez Dispensers have been bringing the sounds of klezmer, jazz, Yiddish swing and original music to the Princeton area since 1998. Audiences of all ages can’t get enough of their impeccable arrangements, inspiring improvisations, and engaging repertoire. Doors open at 2 p.m., concert begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets $12, $10 for Arts Council of Princeton members, seniors and students.

Closing Reception for ArtJam – Art show featuring local artists. The show raises funds for HomeFront NJ. 190 Witherspoon Street, 6 to 9 p.m., free.
