Princeton Emergency Workers Rescue Boaters on Lake Carnegie

lakecarnegie damThree boaters were trapped on the ice at the dam on Lake Carnegie this morning and had to be rescued by emergency workers.

A crew from the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad rescued the boaters at about 12:15 p.m. Police and fire personnel were also on the scene. Rescuers tied a line on to the distressed boat to pull it to safety. The boaters were all safe and unharmed.

The incident was reported at about 11:25 a.m.  The boat experienced steering failure while navigating on the lake, and the current then caused the boat to drift to the dam where it came to rest. The group was on the lake working as contractors, installing aeration devices to keep the lake from freezing at the dam. The workers on the boat were: Jeffrey Horn, 50, of Bangor Pa.; Kevin Shank, 29 , of Pen Argyl, Pa.; and Todd Schramm, 40, of Oxford, New Jersey.
